Technical measures to counter corruption in the Traffic Police would be insufficient if not accompanied by general reforms, Interior Minister Roumen Petkov said.

The Interior Ministry was involved in well-thought anti-corruption policies, which would be carried out using all resources, Petkov said.

People should not associate traffic police with corruption, Petkov said. A number of qualified and honest employees worked there as well, Petkov said as quoted by Bulgarian news agency BTA.
