Police pair face court accused

Two Sunshine Coast policemen charged with sexual offences will face additional charges in Maroochydore Magistrates Court next month.

It is alleged the two long-serving officers sexually assaulted three women in the Maroochydore watch-house last year.

Yesterday, the two officers appeared in Maroochydore Magistrates Court and were ordered to front the court again next month on several additional charges.

One officer, aged 53, is facing three new charges including two counts of misuse of office and official corruption.

His 49-year-old colleague has been charged with common assault and misuse of office.

They are still on bail, but have been suspended from duty until the charges are dealt with by the court.
