Lazy police must leave the for

Charles Nqakula, the safety and security minister, has warned lazy police officers to pack up and leave the service. He was speaking at Jojweni village in Lady Frere in the Eastern Cape as part of his imbizo.

He has announced the appointment of a team of specialists from his office to work with the Independent Complaints Directorate (ICD) to probe challenges faced by Lady Frere communities. This comes after an alarming increase in cases of rape, assault and stock theft.

Villagers had also complained about alleged corrupt and ineffective police at the Dubeni police station, which services the villages. Nqakula says once the team has reported to him drastic action will be taken against the offenders.
