Report Finds Patterns Of New Orleans PD Misconduct
A 150-page report from the U.S. Justice Department says the New Orleans police have engaged in "patterns of misconduct that violate the Constitution and federal law."

The report was released Thursday morning, following a comprehensive investigation at the invitation of NOPD Superintendent Ronal Serpas.

Four Die In French Police Shoo

A policeman has reportedly killed his two children and a colleague before shooting himself in a police barracks south of Paris.
The shootings happened in the town of Malakoff at about 11.15am UK time.

The officer, whose identity was not made public, fatally shot a superior and then killed his two children before killing himself, Commander Pierre Bouquin said.

He said the officer used his personal weapon in the killings.

Both the children are believed to be boys aged about 11.

There were reports that the killer was a 43-year-old man who had been suffering from psychological problems.

He had apparently had his service weapon taken away from him.

French Interior Minister Michele Alliot-Marie went to the scene as soon as she heard about the incident, a spokeswoman for her ministry said.

The gendarmerie is a military police force and is responsible for security in the countryside and small towns.

The national police is centred in cities and major towns.

The shootings follow another family drama earlier this week in southern France when a 37-year-old man admitted to drowning his three children in a bathtub.
