WAUKESHA - A female deputy with the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department is currently under investigation for "misconduct while on duty with a former (Chenequa) police officer," sheriff’s Detective Steve Pederson said.

The deputy continues to work as the investigation is being conducted.

"The relationship occurred over about a four-month period," Pederson said, pointing out the relationship ended about eight or nine months ago.

Pederson said he believed the relationship between the two officers was brought to the sheriff’s department after an investigation began into the Chenequa police officer.

Jeremy Sallmann, 31, of Oconomowoc, was investigated by the Chenequa Police Department after an off-duty incident where he inappropriately put his mouth on a waitress’ neck at a Wauwatosa bar and restaurant on Sept. 8.

Sallmann was cited for disorderly conduct and is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 3, according to a report made by the Wauwatosa Police Department. Sallmann’s last day of work was Sept. 21, when he also submitted his resignation.
