Major Chuck Johnson, a 26-year veteran, is being investigated for alleged misconduct.

WCNC learned on Thursday that Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Chief Rodney Monroe has recommended that Johnson be demoted to captain and receive a 30-day suspension.

Officer accused of having sex

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland police officer accused of having sex with an autistic woman will go to court in January.

Jason Faulk was arraigned in court Wednesday in Portland.

Faulk was indicted earlier in November on two counts of official misconduct after a grand jury decided not to file sex abuse charges.

He'll remain free until his trial but cannot talk to his alleged victim.

Faulk had a clear message for the media while sitting in court and outside the courtroom.

He repeatedly made obscene gestures to news cameras.
