LAGOS— IN SPITE of the measures put in place by the present Inspector General of Police Mr. Sunday Ehindero to completely clean the police of all relics of corruption and corrupt practices to serve the public with integrity; especially in the area of toll collection at check points, Lagosians are of the view that N20 notes collection from motorists have remained a tradition amongst the rank and file and may never find an end except a visibly structural change was effected in the Force.

Though the muffled notes may not better their lot, it does help offset some bills if collected in... Read more

Documents Detail Police Miscon

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. -- Police have released more information regarding the investigation of sexual misconduct and harassment inside the East Hartford Police Department.

The investigation led to the demotion of the highest ranking female officer east of the Connecticut River.

The documents were released a week after now-former Lt. Lisa Freeman's punishment was revealed.

Freeman was disciplined in part because she threatened another officer at different times during her five-year affair with him, according to the documents.

The investigation found that Freeman threatened to have the officer fired, have his police K-9 taken away or have him undergo a competency evaluation after he said he was going to discuss the affair with the department.

According to the documents, Freeman was overheard by another officer on a speakerphone threatening, "I'll go upstairs and do whatever it takes. I'm going to lie. My job is to eliminate guys like you. Don't be surprised if, come Monday morning, you lose your dog."

The department determined that Freeman did sexually harass the officer even though she claimed the conversation was taken out of context.

The male officer involved in the investigation received a two-week suspension after the department determined that he got into a fight with Freeman at the Kahoots Strip Club. The documents claim that while Freeman was not on duty at the time of the argument, he was.

Both Freeman and the officer involved in the investigation refused to comment on Tuesday.
