Granger Police Chief Suspended
Granger Police Chief Robert Perales has been placed on administrative leave while an investigation into alleged police corruption takes place.
New Mayor Ramona Fonseca promised to shake up Granger's government and she's starting with the police department.
Fonseca ran for mayor because she and many other citizens believe city services, like the police department, are ineffective and unresponsive. Washington's Attorney General Rob Mckenna is also investigating complaints about Granger's police. Dozens of people filed claims of harassment, intimidation and abuse of power with his office.
Cheif Peralas could not be reached for comment, but told KNDO last month his department is not corrupt and has not received any formal complaints.
Peralas will be on administrative leave until the investigation is complete.
