British police officer sacked
A British police officer was forced to resign on Wednesday for having sex with a prostitute at a building he had been sent to investigate to see if it was a brothel.

The police sergeant, who was not named, had "engaged in sexual activity with a sex worker" while on duty in east London in December 2005, the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) said. He was supposed to be finding out if the premises were being used for prostitution.

Telephone threat policeman fin

A policeman in the Scottish Borders has been fined £700 after admitting leaving threatening phone messages for the manager of a local football club.
Pc Timothy Rees, 41, from Peebles, got Mark Lamb's details from police computers without permission.

He had previously admitted two charges between December 2005 and December 2006 at Galashiels Police Station.

Rees was suspended from his job after admitting the offences and faces a misconduct hearing.
