Rogue cops: Chicago's financia
If an employee's misconduct cost a private company millions of dollars or caused public embarrassment, that employee would be fired. No doubt about it.

But no such punishment faces Chicago police officers found liable for abusing the people they have sworn to serve and protect. Tulsa police officer resigns

A Tulsa police officer who faced possible disciplinary action in connection with a traffic accident has resigned from the force.

Ron Jordan submitted his letter of resignation to Chief Ron Palmer on Monday.

Jordan was involved in a wreck in Glenpool on September 3 of last year.

He was off duty and driving a TPD patrol car at the time.

The department's Office of Integrity and Compliance launched an investigation the next day and determined that Jordan had violated several rules and regulations.

According to a press release issued by the department Monday, those violations included:
• Rule #2 - Duty to know and obey department rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Rule #3 - Duty to know, enforce and obey laws and ordinances.
• Rule #8 - Conduct unbecoming an officer or police employee.
• Rule #11 - Use of Department vehicles.

Jordan had a pre-termination hearing scheduled for Monday, but submitted his letter of resignation prior to that hearing.

According to the press release, Jordan will not be eligible for rehire.
