THE ANTI-CORRUPTION Unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is being kept busy receiving and investigating complaints against rogue cops.

Florida: UF police charge Titu

University of Florida police have charged a Titusville police officer with accessing a computer without authority, official misconduct and stalking. The stalking charge is a misdemeanor, but the other two charges are felonies.

Adam Paul Treinen, 25, surrendered Wednesday after learning of the warrant. He has been placed administrative leave while the Titusville department conducts an internal investigation. He has worked there since February 2004, much of the time as a school resource officer.

According to a charging affidavit, Treinen used law enforcement data bases without permission or justification since January to search for information about a former girlfriend with whom he fathered a child and the woman's current boyfriend, a University of Florida student.

He is accused of calling the university's computer help desk on Sept. 9 and pretending to be the student to have the student's password reset. Later that day the student went to the help desk when he could not access his computer account and after it was reset the help desk received a second call from a phone number traced to Treinen trying to again reset the password.
