Fresno County DA to investigat

The Fresno County District Attorney plans to investigate the video-recorded arrest and beating of a homeless man to find out whether the officers involved or the man himself committed any wrongdoing.
Police Chief Jerry Dyer says the probe will later be reviewed by the California Attorney General's Office.

At a press conference Thursday with Mayor Ashley Swearingen, Dyer said the department is working quickly to interview witnesses, and hopes to complete their own internal investigation in two to three weeks.

The four-minute video shot Monday on a busy Fresno street by a bystander has gotten national attention on TV and YouTube. The beating victim, 52-year-old Glen Beaty, was released from the hospital Tuesday.
