Officer Robert Cirello of the city's SWAT team was picked up in Harford County after getting involved in what police spokersperson Anthony Guglielmi called "a road rage incident."

According to the charging documents, Cirello became angry at the other driver and threw a cup of spit from chewing tobacco and showed his gun.

Cirello had been on the job since 2002 and was non fatally shot by a suspect while responding to a robbery call in Patterson Park back in 2006.

The second officer arrested this weekend is Officer Joseph Bannerman. Baltimore City Police say he was picked up in the Southwest district on a domestic violence charge after allegedly choking and punching his girlfriend.

Both officers face suspension hearings today.
