Nigeria: Sack Of Police Is Vot
Alhaji Abubakar Tsav, a retired commissioner of police, says in this interview that there is no justification in the present sack of police men and officers. Tsav alleges that the exercise may well be part of plans to rig the elections by deploying military personnel to takeover police duties. He also spoke on other national issues including fears over the elections and more.

What is your comment on the recent sack in the police force?

Prisoner had sex at police sta

A PRISONER was allowed to have sex with his girlfriend and inject drugs at Morningside police station in exchange for false testimony, a report into police misconduct says.

The report says the prisoner, codenamed RI, was taken from jail on February 2 and 7, 2005 to Morningside police station in return for confessing to crimes he didn’t commit.

The Crime and Misconduct Commission (CMC) report, Dangerous Liaisons, was released last Wednesday and implicated 25 police officers in a litany of scandalous acts uncovered during Operation Capri.

In his statement to the CMC, RI alleged he was picked up by police officers and driven around Brisbane’s south.

A police spokesperson said she could not reveal whether the officers were stationed at Morningside police station at the time, why the station was chosen by them or whether they still worked there as some of that information may still be before the courts.

The prisoner told the CMC he made admissions “because I wasn’t allowed the time alone with my girlfriend if I didn’t stick to my end of the deal, which was to give them, ‘at least 20 breaks to make it worthwhile’.” He then claimed he had sex with his girlfriend in the station and injected drugs she brought him.

The police officers said they had organised the drive-arounds in order for RI to point out premises he had burgled. They said the girlfriend was only at the station to bring RI an item of clothing he requested.
