Police unit under investigatio

Israel Police's Southern District Central Investigation Unit will be dismantled and in its place, two large central units will be created in the Lachish District and the Southern District.

Israel Police Inspector-General Moshe Karadi said that he had decided to disband the unit as part of a reorganization that would lead to the creation of a special branch that would deal with police investigation and intelligence.

Police sources said that the decision, in the midst of an ongoing investigation in the unit's role in the Perinian affair, was problematic and might raise suspicions.
