Taser didn't kill man, coroner
An electrical shock from a police Taser did not kill a 52-year-old man in September, according to an autopsy report released yesterday.

Police safety review called af

A police investigation into officer safety has been launched in response to yesterday's shooting of a Sydney police officer.

The Police Association is calling for security screens to be installed at the front counters of all of the state's police stations to better protect officers.

Police Commissioner Ken Moroney says officer training, staffing and safety measures at police stations will be reviewed.

"We'll be looking at all of those matters, we'll be assessing each of these issues and we will have consultation obviously with the Police Association of New South Wales and indeed the local command and indeed the officer herself," he said.

Constable Elizabeth Roth was the only person rostered on at Wetherill Park police station when she was shot.

State Opposition Leader Peter Debnam says staffing levels and security at police stations must now be reviewed.

"Single officer police stations are a major problem and many of the current police stations have no security at all," he said.
