New Orleans mayor asks feds to
The new mayor of New Orleans has asked the Justice Department to review the city's embattled police department.

In a letter sent Wednesday, Mayor Mitch Landrieu asked Attorney General Eric Holder to assign a team from the department's civil rights division to help the city address and prevent police misconduct.

"I have inherited a police force that has been described by many as one of the worst police departments in the country," Landrieu says in the letter.

"It is clear that nothing short of a complete transformation is necessary and essential to ensure safety for t... Read more

Police acted illegally suggest

In recent months South West Regional Voices have reported on two blatant examples of anti-white racism practised by South West police forces. In November we reported how the Avon and Somerset Constabulary discriminated against young white job applicants as a matter of policy. We also, a little later, reported on the Gloucestershire Constabulary doing exactly the same thing! These actions making a mockery of their claims to be even-handed, equal opportunities employers and promoting good community relations.

We have this evening received the following communication from our Bristol and Avon correspondent:

“I've just watched the Chief Constable of Avon & Somerset interviewed on BBC Points West. He was there because he has had to admit that his campaign to positively discriminate against white applicants 'may' have been illegal.

He admitted that complaints against his Force and against the Gloucestershire Force have been received by Race Relations and Sex discrimination bodies!

There can be no question that both police forces have acted illegally! It now remains to be seen whether the senior officers in charge of their various recruitment processes will be arrested and charged under the appropriate sections of the Race Relations Act – or do the forces concerned believe they are above the Law? For the police to ignore this matter, when they have been at such pains to tell us that there is "no place for racism within their ranks", would be an act of the deepest hypocrisy!

We repost our story of the 28th November below.

Our report of the 28th November.

The Police Federation has accused Avon and Somerset Constabulary of racial discrimination against young white applicants, something the British National Party has reported on previously. The Federation has claimed that almost two hundred white male applicants have recently been rejected, particularly in favour of ethnic minority and female ones - largely on the grounds of their ethnicity or gender!

60% of fast-tracked applicants were from “under-represented groups”!

When Avon and Somerset Constabulary commenced their latest recruitment process during the summer, 242 white male applicants were put forward - 40% of the total. However the remaining 60% of applicants were from what are claimed to be “under-represented” groups. These including women, people from minority ethnic groups, the disabled and, by implication, homosexuals. In effect nearly all minority group applicants were automatically short-listed for no reason other than their race, gender or sexual orientation. Consequently the selection process resulted in the majority of rejected applicants being white males!

This is something the Police themselves confirm. According to the Service’s Head of personnel and training, "The majority of those deselected were white men because the force's workforce is over-represented by white men. We are always trying to improve our record in the area of diversity and will continue to try more accurately to reflect the cultural diversity of all our communities and meet the objectives set by the Home Office." these, of course, being the same "objectives" being imposed by Labour's Home Office on local education authorities requiring the teaching of Islam in our schools!

Police recruitment discrimination could be illegal!

A Federation spokesman said, "Our view is that they are denying access to the recruitment process to some very strong candidates purely on the grounds of their gender and ethnicity. It's unfair and may be illegal."

It is also immoral adds South Somerset BNP, whose spokesman added, “Such blatant institutionalised anti-white racism can only fuel resentment and exacerbate racial tensions amongst our young people. The only criteria that should be applied in the recruitment process is that of merit, racially discriminating against white applicants, something that quite clearly does not happen to applicants from ethnic minority backgrounds, is both racist and unacceptable”.

Police double standards.

All of which goes to demonstrate, once again, the double standards being practised by police services across the country in both recruitment and in policing. The latter of course being evident in the lengths police forces go to in refusing to recognise ethnic minority crimes against the indigenous community as being racist, whilst falling over themselves to label any, and all, crimes committed against members of ethnic minorities groups by whites as racist!

We say such disgraceful double standards do nothing to promote public confidence in the integrity of our police.
