Suspended police officer's bai

Mumbai, Mar 13: A sessions court today rejected the bail application of Baban Kadam, recently arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau in a disproportionate assets case.

Kadam is already an accused in the 1999 MPSC examination scam. He was a deputy superintendent of police, before being suspended in 2002 after MPSC scam was exposed.

Kadam was arrested by the ACB last month after a case of amassing assets disproportionate to the known sources of income was registered against him by the Bureau under the Prevention of Corruption Act. At present he is in judicial custody.

The ACB had told the court that Kadam possesses assets worth Rs 2.6 crore, which include bungalows at Goregaon and Gorai in western suburban Mumbai and at Chiplun in Konkan.
