Struggle is stepped up against

Poland’s police force is stepping up a struggle against corruption within its ranks. According to police data, over 150 policemen have been charged with bribe taking and corruption in the past three months. General Marek Bienkowski, the national police chief, says that the Internal Affairs Bureau, which is a police within the police, has been working with increased efficiency, having organized many more sting operations against police officers than last year. The Bureau now employs 240 policemen. In the future their number is to top 700.
