Phil is a Senior Lecturer in Criminal Justice at the University of Portsmouth. He has been involved in equal opportunities and diversity training for many years and has experience of working on the issues with the police service, and a range of government departments, including the Ministry of Defence. He has published several books on related topics, including the "Equal Opportunities Guide", the "Diversity Training Handbook" and, in 2006, "Policing a Diverse Society". He is currently researching and writing in the field of police education and training.
