Mike is Research Professor in Criminal Justice in the Centre for Criminal Justice Policy & Research, UCE Birmingham, UK
Mike has a wealth of experience of directing and coordinating substantive research primarily focusing on issues of public order policing and policing change, and brings with him a strong history of collaboration with both national and international academics and police practitioners. Mike has also been senior consultant for a European Commission PHARE programme concerned with police corruption and has recently successfully completed research funded by the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade into the policing of anti-globalisation protest.
He has published widely on both national and international policing issues and has had his work published in six different languages.
