have just read with interest the article on the increase in the use of video's and the internet to post video footage of what appear to be police misconduct.

The question I ask myself is if a person has been mistreated by the police and has evidence why would they want to use it in such a way rather than making a complaint and using the video evidence to seek justice.

There are many reasons I can think of on both sides I just wonder how other members feel ?

There are certainly more reports of video footage being posted on sites like youtube about police conduct. I would have thought that any capture of such misconduct would be used as evidence particularly in a culture of litigation. It may be that the people who post these video clips are spectators who would rather bring disrepute on the police service than offer their services as a witness. Of course if kept as evidence these incidents would never appear in the public domain in such detail.

The question to ask may be "Which position offers the best learning experience to prevent such incidents?"

What do other members think?
