Police Union Says It's Time Fo

A police union has called for the termination or resignation of Brian Hebbard as police chief in Commerce City.

The request came after a CBS4 investigation that uncovered allegations Hebbard acted inappropriately whie investigating an accident involving former city manage Perry Vandeventer.

The accident happened last December. Vandeveter apparently told Hebbard a few days later about the incident.

Paperwork showed Hebbard didn't tell the investigating officer for almost 6 months.

The president of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 19 sent a memo to Commerce City leaders asking for Hebbard's termination or resignation because he acted "inappropriately and unethical."

"As cops, we all take a code of ethics and he broke it and he knew he did," said Scott Wilson, the lodge president.
