Audiotapes of conversations between a New Haven police officer who was sentenced Monday on corruption charges and undercover agents have been released.
Former Lt. William White, 64, was sentenced to 38 months in federal prison for taking bribes from bail bondsmen and stealing thousands of dollars planted by the FBI during sting operations. His sentence also includes more than $45,000 in restitution and fines.
White can be heard on the tapes offering cash to an undercover FBI agent.

Crossing the line? Dozens of Hebron and Kiriyat Arba children demonstrated outside police headquarters in Jerusalem Sunday, with some carrying signs of targets on their body and urging Police Chief Moshe Karadi to shoot them
The children and their "Karadi, shoot me" signs were in Jerusalem to demonstrate against the police’s handling of recent riots in Hebron.
Comments by Karadi that the police will not hesitate to use force during the planned evacuation of a handful of families from the city’s old markets added fuel to the fire, as some 1,000 policemen prepare for the January 31 evictions.
Karadi told a Channel 2 host that the evictions will be carried out in any event. Asked if he expects violent clashes between settlers opposed to the evacuation and security forces, the police chief said, “I hope not, but as someone in charge of a professional operation, I cannot rule out such possibility. From now on, there are no double messages; there is an unequivocal enforcement of the law.”
The spokesperson for Jewish settlers in Hebron, Noam Arnon, told Ynet, “After a week-long incitement campaign against us - from politicians, police officers and lately Karadi himself - we decided to make his job easier, so we brought the children to his office.”
Arnon added that, “(Acting Prime Minister Ehud) Olmert’s government and his headquarters failed in dealing with terror attacks and Arab rioters and want to prove themselves by taking a tough stance against us (the settlers).”
